NorthPointe Christian Announces John Yonker as New Varsity Baseball Head Coach NorthPointe Christian is pleased to announce the hiring of John Yonker as the new Varsity Baseball Head Coach. Yonker brings a strong blend of coaching experience, baseball knowledge, and Christ-centered leadership to the Mustang program, and he is eager to begin working with NPC student-athletes. For the past five years, he has been part of the Big Rapids baseball coaching staff, serving as the program’s pitching coordinator. Prior to coaching, Yonker played two years of collegiate baseball at Taylor University, where he also studied Sports Management and Coaching. “I am thrilled to be welcomed into this community, and to be trusted with mentoring and guiding the baseball program,” said Yonker. “I have a wealth of baseball experience that I am excited to bring to the table and implement with these young men in the imminent future.” Yonker is passionate about building a program known for its preparation, effort, and unified pursuit of excellence. Yonker currently resides in Big Rapids with his wife, Morgan, and serves as a high school social studies teacher at Big Rapids High School. NorthPointe Christian Announces Tricia VanderKodde as New Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach NorthPointe Christian is pleased to announce the return of Tricia VanderKodde as the new Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach. VanderKodde brings extensive experience as both an educator and coach, along with a deep connection to the NPC community and its soccer tradition. VanderKodde has been part of NorthPointe Christian since 2003, spending 19 years teaching K–12 PE and Health across both buildings before transitioning into her current role as an elementary PE teacher. The NPC soccer community holds special significance for her, as she previously led the Varsity Girls Soccer program from 2008–2011. During that time, the team advanced to the Regional Finals each season and secured a Regional Title in her final year. “My goal is to help our athletes grow in skill, confidence, teamwork, and character, while building a strong program that uses our love for soccer to equip them to impact their world for Jesus Christ,” said Coach VanderKodde. Before coaching, VanderKodde competed in both soccer and basketball at Calvin University and later played semi-professional soccer. Coach Tricia and her husband Kyle are parents to NPC students Kai (11), Meika (9), and Zae.
