Spring Highlights and congratulations:

Girl’s tennis wins Regionals – Congratulations to Coach Yoder, Coach Katerberg and the tennis team for winning the MHSAA Regional hosted by South Christian.  The girls will now head to the state finals in Novi next weekend.  They also finished 2nd in the OK Blue Conference this spring.  Our girls are currently ranked #6 in the state in D4.

Boys Golf – OK Silver Champions.  Coach Fahlen and the boys golf team shot a school record 294 last week at the Meadows at GVSU.  Hayden VanErmen and Erik Fahlen Jr carded a pair of 68’s to tie for medalist at the conference championship.  Those 68’s also set a new school record for an 18 hole event.  They will compete in the Regional this next week up at Muskegon Country Club.  They are currently ranked #1 in the state in D4.

Mustang Softball – The girls just wrapped up their season and had an outstanding run this spring as they collaborated with Wellspring Prep and Potter’s House.  The girls finished with a record of 16-6.  Noteworthy, Kaycee Sluiter hit 4 out of the park homeruns in the season!

Mustang Baseball – OK Silver Champions.  The Mustangs just sewed up a tie for the OK Silver conference championship for the 4th time in 5 years.  They finished 10-2 in conference and will be in MHSAA tournament action next week Tuesday at Calvin Christian (4:30 PM).

Soccer – Our girls finished 6-6 in the OK Silver and are eyeing up the MHSAA Districts this next week.  They open with Tri-unity Christian on Tuesday at 2:30 PM at NPC.

Track and Field – The Mustangs set 5 school records this spring and have our boys 4 x 200 team (Josh Roede, Jalen Shaffer, Josiah Dooley, and Dane Segard) heading to the State Finals next week at Hudsonville High School (Saturday, June 2.)

  • Girls 100 M – Halle Schnyders (13.38 seconds)
  • Girls 200 M – Halle Schnyders (27.53 seconds)
  • Boys 4 x 200 – Josh Roede, Jalen Shaffer, Josiah Dooley, and Dan Segard (1’ 34.85”)
  • Boys Shotput – Jalen Shaffer (44’ – 9 ¾”)
  • Boys 800 M – Elijah Wallace (2:09.13)


  • NPC Sr. Athlete of the Year – Payton Rumsey and Jaryk Pitsch
  • OK Conference Sr. Athlete of the Year – Tressa Berends and Jalen Shaffer
  • All Conference and All State – Those teams will be announced soon!


Sports Physicals for 2018-19 – Spectrum Health will again be offering a time slot for our athletes to get their sports physicals for next school year.  The tentative date we have gotten from Spectrum is Saturday, June 9th .  We will confirm when we hear officially, but this allows you to start planning for it.  The only physical that is valid for the 2018-19 school year is one given AFTER April 15, 2018.  The NPC time slot is 10:00 AM and paperwork should be filled out prior to the physical.  Cost (payable to NPC) is $10.00 and should be turned in to the athletic office.  They will take place at Spectrum Health at 4100 Lake Drive in Suite 300.  Forms are available at this LINK – Physical Form  or under FORMS on the athletic website –  Your son or daughter is not required to use Spectrum for sports physicals, but this is a service provided as an option for this MHSAA requirement.  If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact the athletic office.  Click on this LINK for all the forms and information.

Summer Camps – NPC Is pleased to offer youth (Elementary and MS) camp opportunities for the NPC community as well as friends and neighbors.  Be sure to visit our website for more information.  The link is  Youth Camps are offered in basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, golf, cheer, cross county and football.

Photos – As a parent, do you miss the opportunity to take pictures at your kid’s events?  Or is your camera still taking “film” not digital pics?  Is your flip-phone camera starting to wear out?  Help is on the way!  You may know that Lori Melton, an NPC Mom, is maintaining a photo website for NPC activities…which includes athletics, concerts, homecoming, purple game etc.  Prices are very fair and all of the proceeds are being returned back to the athletic department.  You can see her work at  Password for entry is (all caps):  MUSTANGS.

  • August 8th – All other fall sports (B Soccer, G Golf, B Tennis, G Swim/Dive,Sideline Cheer, Volleyball, B/G X-C)


            They all start the first week of school (August 28th) except Youth Football (56ers – Aug 13th.  78ers – Aug. 20th)
