Girls Junior Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Tennis · Strong Field at Mustang Invitational

Outside of the state finals to be held in Jenison the first weekend of June, the NorthPointe Christian Invitational featured one of the strongest Division 4 fields of the 2012 season.

The currently #1 ranked team from Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart finished in second place to last years State Champion NorthPointe Christian Mustangs.  While the Mustangs graduated 11 seniors from the 2011 squad, ASH has every player returning in the same positions.  ASH bested second place team Williamston 21 to 17.

Playing in snow flurries and bitterly cold temperatures, the Mustangs, finishing in a tie for 6th place, had one two match winner in freshman Samantha Stephens.  Second singles player Elizabeth Soper and all four of the Mustangs doubles teams also won one match on the day.

TEAM RESULTS:  Bloom Hills Academy of Sacred Heart 21; Williamston 17; Monroe St Mary’s 15; Traverse City St Francis 14; North Muskegon 9; NorthPointe Christian 7; Whitehall 7; Grant 6
