Coed Middle School Tennis · Middle School Tennis wins a close one with South Christian

What a beautiful day the Lord gave us to play tennis today on Tuesday!

The match started out with prayer by Christopher Murphy.  What a splendid job he did! (“Thank You,”  Christopher!)

What a nail bitter this match was…After the first 3 matches done, NPC found themselves down 0-3.  We played well on those courts, but the South Christian opponents were just a little bit better than NPC.  But, that was not the end of the match,  by a long stretch!
Brittany Katerberg and Kelly Looman were our first win off the courts with a
6-1,6-3 at # 3 doubles.  Next was Sam Soper and Jordan Wynalda with a 6-1 6-4 win at # 5
Doubles.  Up came with another win at # 6 doubles, tying the match at 3-3.

Emily Dakoske and Lydia Soper played  # 2 doubles.  We ran through the 1st
set 6-3 and lost the second set 1-6.  Then, they never looked back in the 3rd set tie-breaker and won 10-7, bringing the overall match score to 4-3.

Austin Koeness and Ben Bradley played #1 against a very fine team.. They
lost the first set 4-6,  won the next one 6-2, and won the 3rd set 10-7.  This  whole team match could have gone either way!  It was great to watch all of them improve from the last match.

To top off the night, I had several very nice compliments from parents on how nice and pleasant the NPC team was at this match.  Thanks goes to the whole team.. Awesome playing and they are a great joy to coach!
