The NorthPointe Christian golf team is off to a great start in River Valley coming out on top of both events in Muskegon this past week.
The first win came last Monday on a blustery day at Muskegon Country Club. NPC’s Stefan Fahlen seemed unbothered by the difficult conditions and claimed medalist honors, shooting a 38, to lead the field.
Fahlen, Peter Wiersma (42), Kevin VanTongeren (44), and Kyle Reitsma (45) combined to lead the Mustangs to a title. Muskegon Western Michigan Christian’s Henry McGannon shot a 41 to claim second place, while Alec Breit finished with a 42 to tie for third.
Just three days later, the NPC team headed back to Muskegon to Chase Hammond Golf Club to take on the River Valley field of golfers. Stefan Fahlen, Kevin VanTongeren, Collin McGinnis, Peter Wiersma, and Kyle Reitsma each placed in the top ten among finishers. NorthPointe finished 10 strokes ahead of host Muskegon Western Michigan Christian.
Henry McGannon shot a jamboree-best 35 to lead WMC. The team was aided by second place finisher Alec Breit, who shot a 36.
